Summer In Winter | Editorial for Miuse Magazine

Ahh, those carefree pre-lockdown shoots. How times have changed! I shot this story in early March, literally a few weeks before the UK went into a strict lockdown. It’s quite crazy to look back on, actually. We had no idea how much the world was going to change in just a matter of days.

When I was planning this shoot, I wanted to share a story about freedom, which is honestly a theme very present in a lot of my work. I didn’t realise how fitting that theme would end up being when it finally came out in the debut issue of Miuse Magazine in May 2020.

We shot this story with an entirely local team (in Cornwall). Zeb Gethen of Zebrafinch Falmouth is a hair stylist that I’ve had the pleasure of working with for a few years now. He’s incredible, and always a joy to work with. Charlotte, the make up artist, lives locally to Newquay, and has an incredible talent for creating “golden goddess” looks which I always adore. And finally model Lucy, who also lives locally, is a model I’ve photographed a lot. I always go back to her, and recommend her to clients looking to shoot with local models, because she’s got an infectious, happy energy about her. It was really cold on this day, and she was a total power house the entire time. I really can’t recommend her enough!

Below the tear sheets I’ve added a couple of out takes, which didn’t make it into the magazine, but that I loved.
