When I was 13, I saw an editorial by Corinne Day featuring Gemma Ward in Vogue. I remember ripping out every single page of the editorial, sticking on my wall, and staring at the images for hours upon end. I not only wanted to be the girl in the photos, but I wanted to be the girl taking them too.

When Mode Magazine approached me to shoot for their July issue, I had a moodboard that I’d created in lockdown ready to go - and it was heavily inspired by that very editorial.

This shoot is truly a dream come true for me to have created. It actually makes me really emotional, because it’s like fulfilling a lifelong dream. I think 13 year old Olivia would be pretty damn proud to know that she’d taken images like this, and that they’d been featured in a major Chinese printed magazine.
