I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to finally share these images. Shot way back in January, on a cold, windy day, I came home feeling utterly exhausted, but totally blissed out because I KNEW that I'd just created something which made my heart flutter.
The entire shoot was organised fairly quickly, and was an accumulation of many ideas I'd had over the course of a few months, coming into fruition. I'd alway wanted to work with dress designer, Joanne Fleming, so when I contacted her to see if she'd be interested, and she said yes... I couldn't quite believe my luck! I knew that I wanted to capture this story at one of my favourite places in the world, Kynance Cove. Of course, shooting something like this in the middle of Winter comes with its risks, but the weather held out for us, even giving us just a light breeze; just enough to pick up Lauren and Victoria's hair and add to the whimsy of it all.
The whole idea behind these images was to tell the story of two Cornish girls, waiting for their sailor lovers to return from sea. Does that sound super corny? Yes, it does, but that's because I'm a huge romantic at heart, and stories like these are what make my heart sing.
Thank you to Wedding Sparrow for publishing these images, and to the entire team from the day... you made one of my dreams come true.
