Exploring Boscastle with Siân

You know when there's a place you really want to visit, but it's just a bit too far away, so you never actually make the trip up? That place was Boscastle for me. I've been meaning to make my way up to Boscastle and Tintagel for years, but because its an hour and a half drive up, the timing just never seemed right/I never made the effort.

Until recently!

The lovely Siân from "The Freckled Fieldnotes" got in touch with me a few weeks ago, asking if I'd come up to her area and shoot some headshots for her. Of course, not only was I extremely happy to do that, but I finally had my reason to head up to Boscastle!

Needless to say, it was totally worth it. Siân is lovely, and we got on super well. And can we take a second to talk about the sunset we got?! We could not have been more lucky. There's a lot of risk in booking shoots far ahead of time, because you really just do not know what the weather will be like. The closer you get to November, the riskier it gets. This time, luck really was on our side.

I've been asked quite a lot recently what it's like to have headshots done, and I think that the moment I mention the word headshots, people automatically think I'll be sitting them in front of a white backdrop and making them grin for me. As you can probably tell from these images, that couldn't be further from the truth.

Sure, theres a time a place for those kinds of images, but these aren't those. I want to get people outside, exploring nature, and capture the real essence of who they are. I want to have real conversations, and really get to know people. I want the images to tell a story, and in turn, help the people in the photos attract the customers they want.

So if you've ever thought about having some professional portraits taken, but cringed at the idea of sitting in front a white wall, maybe my take on the professional portrait will convince you to give it a go? Contact me below if you'd like to book a session!
