A Winter Visit To London
London is a city I've come to know quite well in the last few years. I spent many weeks there whilst interning, but instead of then dreaming of moving to the city and embarking on a big career, I found myself doing quite the opposite... I wanted to get out.
I don't go to London very often anymore, but recently an opportunity came up for me to have a few days there in November, and I actually found myself getting quite excited about a few days of culture!
Tania (@taniajoyfjane) and I had been chatting on Instagram for quite a few months, so when I knew that I'd be in London, I checked to see if she would be around to meet up for the first time. Thankfully, she said yes, and Tania agreed to show me around Richmond, an area I don't know very well at all.
We had lunch at Bhuti which served incredible vegan bowls, and then went to walk off our food babies. It was a stunning Wintery day, with a low sun making everything look golden. The leaves were just about still on the trees, making everything beautiful. Tania offered to take me to Petersham Nurseries, just a few minutes walk away, and it did not disappoint! I feel like such a blogger cliché, but there's nothing better than a garden centre, especially at Christmas!
I truly had a wonderful day, and meeting Tania properly felt like I was meeting up with a long term friend - not someone I'd only met on a social media app.
It made me realise how lucky we are to be able to connect so easily with so many like minded people these days. I'm such a shy person, and hate making introductions in real like. Thanks to the internet though, I've made pretty much all of my friends... and I'm not ashamed to say it's because I can hide behind my phone screen during the first few interactions!
